C-PAP
C-PAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) is a device that allows you to breathe better at night and during sleep.
C-PAP is the only device that has 100% effectiveness in treating Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
The C-PAP device has a soft plastic mask that fits over your nose. The mask is connected to a small air blower by a flexible tube. The blower delivers a gentle stream of air with a predetermined pressure which keeps your airway open. However it may take time to get used to wearing the mask and adjusting to the pressure which has been determined earlier in a sleep lab when C-PAP titration was performed.
You must wear the mask all night during sleep. If you have difficulty adjusting to the mask start using it a few hours every night and then gradually increase the time. If the mask is uncomfortable a different style or custom made mask may be an option. Keep your mask clean and wash it often. Also keep the tubes clean and wash frequently.
